Team History

Star Racing was founded in 1999 by Bobby Regan to compete in the AMA Supercross and Motocross Championships as a full privateer effort. The team grew each year and in 2003 won the Supercross Privateer of the Year award with rider Keith Johnson. Building off that success, Star Racing became an official Yamaha Factory supported program in 2005 and is now one of the most sought after teams for young riders looking to advance their careers. Star’s superior management, equipment and support staff helped a number of riders move onto full factory rides.

Star’s goal for 2010 and beyond is to build on the solid foundation currently in place to elevate the team into a powerhouse program. Current riders Nico Izzi, Broc Tickle, and Martin Davalos earned their place as stars of the sport thanks to breakout seasons in the past few years. These three riders will be joined in 2010 by a top British prospect and amateur sensation Max Anstie.

Team Principal

Much of the team’s successful work ethic and drive can be attributed to team principle Bobby Regan. Regan originally comes from a football background and understands the value of proper training, preparation and the ability to make adjustments as needed when the game calls for it. As an entrepreneur from Mississippi whose successful business endeavors have included ownership of a bank and now owning and operating a multi-line auto dealership, Regan has proven himself both on and off the track. Regan’s management and business experience helps make Star Racing one of the most organized and well trained teams in the paddock.
